A Pittsburgh based interior design resource, Designhus, offers a unique portfolio of products and looks to create a brand new scene in our city. Owner Michele Grindheim founded the company with a vision of artfully blending practical and modern-day designs.

“Designhus fills a need in the market for a fresh new perspective on commercial interior spaces. We spend so much of our lives in the workplace. It is important that those spaces are comfortable, up-to-date and practical both for clients and staff. I incorporate modern furnishings and color schemes with the newest technological features and sustainable sources to create exciting new spaces.”

As for the inspiration behind the brand, her past travel to Norway and Scandinavian perspective has outlined her artistic approach to her Pittsburgh foundation in interior design. “I lived in Norway for five years, learned the language and studied interior design there. My husband is from Norway and I travel there regularly, seeking out new design talent and trends. I am also a member of the Norwegian Society of Interior Architects. These serve as inspiration for the range of products that I select for my designs,” Grindheim said.

The selection of products include furniture, wall coverings, artwork, lighting and accessories. Ultimately, she has an eye for creativity combined with the Pittsburgh values of hard work, friendliness, and honesty. From upscale renovations and construction to minor updating, the exclusive products and visions along with exceptional service differentiate Designhus from other firms in our area.
